Vidrio bioactivo en osteología: beneficios emergentes, seguridad y potencial aplicación en cirugía ortopédica

Resumen

El vidrio bioactivo emerge como biomaterial promisorio en cirugía ortopédica por su biocompatibilidad, efecto antimicrobiano y capacidad osteogénica. Muestra beneficios en osteomielitis y defectos óseos, con menor uso de antibióticos. Sin embargo, se requieren estudios clínicos robustos para definir su rol en la práctica.
